“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 (KJV)
What is Christmas all about?
It’s not found in toys, or lights, or beautifully decorated trees. It isn’t found in that big dinner or in buying presents, or in that Christmas bonus from work. Christmas isn’t about sleigh bells, or reindeer, or even that big man in a funny looking red suit.
Christmas is about love!
On that first Christmas 2,000 years ago God wrapped a special love package in swaddling clothes as God became flesh. What was His motivation? Love!
In Christ, God was seeking to reconcile the world to Himself that we might experience the fullness of His Love. In Ephesians we read, “know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:19 (NKJV)
In that manger so many years ago God was inviting the world to come and discover love. He did it by giving the most precious gift He could give. The gift of His Son.
Come discover anew God’s special gift of love as we approach the manger. And enter into a love relationship that cannot be broken and will last throughout eternity. Nothing, “ will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Rom 8:39 (NIV)
